Want to make a charitable gift to Elderhostel, benefit from a significant charitable income tax deduction, and avoid paying some capital gains tax?

If so, one of these two kinds of charitable gifts might suit you:

Charitable Remainder Unitrust - you donate the property into a trust. After the real estate is sold by the trust, you will start to receive regular income each year.
Charitable Gift Annuity - you contribute the real estate to Elderhostel. After a deferral period, you will receive regular, fixed income payments for life.

Donate Your Residence and Continue to Live There

Want to continue living in your personal residence or farm and are 70 years of age or older?

You can deed your personal residence or farm to Elderhostel and retain the right to live there. You will enter into a special agreement with Elderhostel to ensure the property is maintained. And, if you want to move, the property can be sold.
