Grand Canyon’s depth and color, Sedona’s majestic and famous red rocks and northern Arizona’s soaring volcanic peaks offer world-class scenery for photographers. On an intensive program of full-day field trips and classroom workshops, capture the colors of sunrise and sunset, trade image critiques and suggestions with your peers, and discuss composition, lighting, design and how to edit, transfer, optimize, print and e-mail digital images. Your instruction by a professional photographer will emphasize nature photography with field trips to capture the magnificence of a sunset at Grand Canyon, Sedona and its multihued canyons and high desert flora, and the dramatic settings of Wupatki and Sunset Crater National Monuments.

Walking up to two miles over flat, sometimes rocky terrain. Elevations up to 7,000 feet. Program suitable for all levels of photographer; each participant must be familiar with functions of his or her own camera. Film photographers welcome but should expect daily digital imaging reviews better suited to digital camera users. Participants encouraged to bring flash drives, CDs, laptops to facilitate file sharing.

Program in association with Northern Arizona University, offering educational Southwestern adventures for over 25 years.
