Itinerary: Baltimore, MD 6 nights

Immerse yourself in operatic bliss at the Peabody Conservatory. Our week of opera is sure to delight, with behind-the-scenes perspective into what has often been hailed as the highest form of art. Meet with Conservatory vocal coaches, voice students, and administration to gain insight into the rigors of an opera performance degree. Go backstage to experience the many aspects of opera production that transform the operatic composition into a living, breathing work of art: lighting, set design, costuming, and the orchestra pit. In the classroom, discuss the world of opera in a survey course of early and present day examples. Week will culminate with a spectacular performance of the Peabody Opera Theater's main stage production.

Performances each evening by Peabody artists and exceptional students. Free access to world-class Walters Art Museum across the street. Backstage experience may not be handicapped accessible. The featured opera may not be announced at the time of catalog publication. It will be posted on the Exploritas website as soon as available and included in preparatory materials sent following enrollment.
