The Italian violinist, Paganini, was called "the turning point of virtuosity." Franz Liszt dazzled his audiences with amazing piano technique. Examine these and other extraordinary virtuosi from a musical, technological and historical perspective.



Jascha Heifetz

Heifetz was considered the aristocrat of the violin. Investigate his amazing life, his extraordinary concerts and his profound teachings through recordings, films and television.



Toscanini

Toscanini was possibly the most influential conductor of his time. Discuss his recording legacy from early sessions through his TV years, dispelling myths about adherence to score, disinterest in contemporary music, and musical rigidity.



This program will take place during a very exciting time at the Peabody Conservatory. During the month of April, Conservatory students perform recitals for the completion of their degree. Each evening, select from numerous degree recitals, of various instrumentation!
