Born in Pasadena, California, Julia Child became a beloved resident of Santa Barbara — often spotted in local wineries, restaurants and selecting produce at the local farmers market. Get an insider’s view of this amazing woman who co-founded the American Institute of Wine and Food (AIWF). Learn about Julia’s life and legacy, explore her culinary haunts; study the history of French cuisine and local wines with tasting. Sample fresh local produce prepared by a professional chef while learning cooking techniques and secrets. Enjoy two Julia-inspired feasts-one prepared by the culinary school she supported and the other by a popular local restaurant, all while savoring the delights of Santa Barbara.

Daily walking between the hotel, classroom, restaurants and field trip destinations. Participants should be able to walk 1 mile a day and at least eight blocks at a time. Electric shuttles operate on downtown section of State St during daytime hours.

Program coordinated by Exploritas.
