Itinerary: Cincinnati, Ohio 5 nights

Big steamboats and the Underground Railroad, locks, dams and navigation, River City lore and the Industrial history of an era, and Rookwood pottery: since the 1850's the mighty waters of the Ohio have washed Cincinnati in prosperity, culture and, occasionally, floods. The "Queen City" was the crown jewel of all transportation from the East coast to the Mississippi. Step aboard a 94-foot side-wheel steamboat at the Cincinnati Museum Center at Historic Union Terminal. Explore the river ecosystem aboard a working research vessel. Cruise and learn harbor city history aboard the Queen City riverboat. Visit Taft's childhood home, explore Fountain Square and discover another side of Cincinnati's history at the National Underground Railroad Museum.

Be prepared for busy days with moderate demand for walking and standing on uneven surfaces.

Program in association with University of Texas at Austin, providing programs as part of our lifelong learning mission.

Cincinnati

Ohio’s “Queen City” on the Ohio River is more than 200 years old and its historic neighborhoods, tucked among the hills and valleys, are among the city’s many attractions, which also include the Cincinnati Zoo and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.
