Watercolors at Red Rock Crossing, Sedona - NAU Elderhostel

What an opportunity! A watercolor class in the most beautiful place in America*! This fun and popular class is designed for all levels of skill. Whether a beginner or experienced practitioner, take your skill to a level you never dreamed possible! Enjoy in-class demonstrations, lessons and exercises while you learn about washes, glazing, color mixing, dry and wet techniques, and different brush strokes. A field trip to one of the most photographed sites in the southwest will enable us to study the light, shadow and color of Sedona's brilliant red cliffs, spires, and flora that will translate to any subject you paint. Taught by a nationally recognized artist who provides individual attention to each student in this small class setting.

*Sedona was reported by USA Today as number one of the “Ten Most Beautiful Places In America.” And our field trip to Cathedral Rock is “one of the southwest’s most photographed sites.” The site is level and there are paved paths for walking.

Program in association with Northern Arizona University, offering educational Southwestern adventures for over 25 years.

Sedona is internationally recognized as an artists' mecca with an abundance of galleries to enjoy.

Sedona

Sedona was historically a rural ranching community in Oak Creek Canyon. Today, the sunny city attracts visitors to its red-rock cliffs and lush evergreens, international film festival, and lively art scene.
