The Grand Canyon is an undisputed ‘World Wonder’ and symbol of the American West. Experience it as few do during this spectacular journey, exploring the geology, ecology and human history of the Canyon as you traverse its length and breadth from beginning to end and from rim to river. Take two equally spectacular yet dramatically different Colorado River raft trips. On the upper end float to historic Lee’s Ferry through sheer cliff walls of Navajo sandstone; in western Grand Canyon, take in the thrilling vista of the inner gorge from a helicopter to a river beach, then marvel at the differences seen in this part of the canyon as you float its last impressive miles, exiting at the Grand Wash Cliffs. A visit to the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park to view its spectacular vistas links these magnificent trips. Enjoy the magnitude and solitude of Grand Canyon with a new appreciation of this American treasure.

Float from Glen Canyon Dam to Lee’s Ferry, 15 mile smooth water float; Helicopter/Raft trip from Quartermaster Canyon to Pearce Ferry in Lake Mead, smooth water float. No rapids. Helicopter and raft trip participation require signature on a liability waiver. Minimal walking required (a few hundred yards); optional longer walks. Elevations up to 7,000 feet.

Program in association with Northern Arizona University, offering educational Southwestern adventures for over 25 years.
