Grand Canyon National Park encompasses 277 miles of the Colorado River and more than 1.2 million acres of forests, streams, waterfalls, deserts, canyons, and plateaus. Five of North America's seven life zones and three of its four deserts are found within and around the Canyon. Factor in that it is a mile deep and you have an incomparable destination! On the South Rim, learn about the region's indigenous peoples, the condor reintroduction project, John Wesley Powell and the Harvey Girls. On the more remote alpine North Rim visit Point Imperial, the park's highest point at 8,803', with its sweeping vistas into the canyon's depths. Enjoy the ambience of the historic North Rim Lodge, perched atop the canyon's edge, where contemplating the canyon's grandeur at sunrise and sunset are sure to be memorable highlights. Between the rims travel through the Navajo Reservation, visit a historic trading post and test the waters of the mighty Colorado at Lee's Ferry, where the Grand Canyon begins.

Elevations from 2,000 to 8,000 feet. Walking up to one mile daily, optional longer hikes.

Program in association with Northern Arizona University, offering educational Southwestern adventures for over 25 years.
