Experience Phoenix, Sedona, Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon--the best of Arizona in one dynamic program! Discover its geology, natural history, and native cultures; the Anasazi, Sinagua, Hopi and Navajo. Explore the desert's amazing lushness at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix and discover native life and arts in the renowned collections of the Heard Museum. See a five-story cliff dwelling at Montezuma Castle, the copper mining town/artist colony of Jerome and Sedona's fabulous red rock country. Visit Walnut Canyon National Monument and the Museum of Northern Arizona in the mountain town of Flagstaff. En route to Grand Canyon, travel via the Navajo Reservation, visit the historic Cameron Trading Post, and marvel at infinite rim vistas. On GC's South Rim, see the geology, and view a sunset/rise before returning to Phoenix. From expansive vistas of saguaro cactus to the bottomless depths of the Grand Canyon, you will be immersed in the many faces and landscapes of amazing Arizona.



Walking 1-2 miles daily. Elevations up to 7,000 feet.



Program in association with Northern Arizona University, offering educational Southwestern adventures for over 25 years.



Itinerary

Arrivals Phoenix, 2 nights; Sedona, 2 nights; Flagstaff, 2 nights; South Rim Grand Canyon, 2 nights; Return to Phoenix by 1:30 PM on final day. Plan independent departures after 3 PM. First day, plan for hotel arrivals in Phoenix by 4 PM.

Native American and western expansion influences are seen in the art and architecture of Phoenix, and an abundance of museums and art galleries showcase the culture.
