Sedona’s red rock splendor and Grand Canyon’s mile-deep chasm are the two most awe-inspiring sites in all of Arizona. In Sedona, delve into the mysteries of ancient cultures during a visit to the 800-year-old cliff dwellings of Montezuma Castle National Monument. Enjoy an open air trolley ride to Sedona's best views and finest sites; hear a Hopi woman tell her life story. Travel through lush Oak Creek Canyon and to the southwestern corner of the Navajo Nation as you embark on a full-day visit to the Grand Canyon. Learn how this layer cake of stone took shape during a presentation by a noted geologist. Walk along the rim, peer into its depths and experience what Teddy Roosevelt called "the one great sight that every American should see."

Field trips require the ability to walk up to 1/2 mile, longer hiking options available. Program includes a field trip to the historic mining town of Jerome. Jerome, once the location of the largest copper mine in the United States, sits dramatically atop Cleopatra Hill and today is home to a thriving art scene.

Program in association with Northern Arizona University, offering educational Southwestern adventures for over 25 years.

Sedona elevation is 4,500 feet. Grand Canyon South Rim elevation is 7,000 feet.

Sedona

Sedona was historically a rural ranching community in Oak Creek Canyon. Today, the sunny city attracts visitors to its red-rock cliffs and lush evergreens, international film festival, and lively art scene.
