The Colorado River slices a path from the Rockies through the heart of the American Southwest and has profoundly impacted the region and its inhabitants. Gain insight into John Wesley Powell’s heroics, Navajo/Hopi culture, the workings of Glen Canyon Dam, and unique aspects of the region’s geology including recently discovered dinosaurs. Field trips include a smooth water raft adventure on the Colorado River between the towering 800' high red Navajo sandstone cliffs of Glen Canyon, a guided visit of Glen Canyon Dam and a full-day boat trip on the sparkling blue waters of Lake Powell to the world’s largest natural bridge -- Rainbow Bridge National Monument. Come discover this region's lifeblood and visit its world class attractions.

While field trips include hikes of up to one mile, all levels of physical ability can participate and enjoy outings.

Program in association with Northern Arizona University, offering educational Southwestern adventures for over 25 years.
