Few have the chance to explore Grand Canyon’s remote, western expanse or travel into its depths, a land of ancient rocks and spiritual home to the Hualapai people, whose name means "People of the Tall Pines." Explore Grand Canyon West with a visit to the gravity-defying Skywalk. Take a scenic helicopter ride into the Canyon before embarking on a smooth water raft trip on the Colorado River. Hualapai tribal members share ancient stories, oral traditions and current tribal issues. Discover how real cowboys live on and work the land. Travel by van to the very bottom of the Grand Canyon. View close-at-hand the canyon walls -- 1.8-billion-year-old rocks of Granite Gorge, a whitewater rapid on the Colorado River and remote, spectacular vistas.

Helicopter and raft trip participation require signature on a liability waiver.

Program in association with Northern Arizona University, offering educational Southwestern adventures for over 25 years.

Best air destination is Phoenix (200 miles; commercial shuttle available). Alternate air destination Las Vegas (160 miles; no shuttle service).

Peach Springs

Home of the Hualapai Nation, or "People of the Tall Pine," Peach Springs is the reservation’s tribal capital, which comprises 1 million acres along the Colorado River and Grand Canyon region.
