From the splendor of Sedona's majestic red rocks and tranquil Oak Creek Canyon, to the incredible vastness of Grand Canyon and pine-clad mountains and Victorian architecture of historic Prescott, Arizona displays some of the grandest scenery on earth. We will explore this amazing tapestry of landscapes, including sunset and sunrise from the south rim of Grand Canyon National Park, a picnic lunch on the banks of the Colorado River in remote western Grand Canyon (down a little-known road to the very bottom where the rushing water and noisy nearby rapids will help illustrate this mighty river’s turbulent past, present and future). Travel through the 2,000-foot-deep Verde River Canyon by rail. Wander through ancient ruins at Wupatki National Monument and Montezuma Castle cliff dwellings. Your senses will be filled with the awe-inspiring beauty of Arizona on this journey of discovery exploring the geology, ecology, and human heritage of a landscape dwarfing human comprehension and time.

Elevations from 5,300 to 7,000 feet.
