Itinerary: Grand Canyon - South Rim 5 nights


Hike beneath towering ponderosa pines, through fragrant stands of pinyon-juniper and step your way around yucca and agave as you venture along and below the rim experiencing the wonder that is Grand Canyon. From your hike along the rim at Hopi Pt. in the west to the Desert View descent of the Palisades in the east, to Cedar Ridge or Skeleton Point on the fabled South Kaibab Trail below, you will see more of the canyon than you ever imagined. Naturalist guides provide insight to the canyon's epic geologic story and natural and human histories making this a week to remember. National Park Service evening ranger programs will be offered. Drink in the essence of this natural wonder by learning about the canyon while immersed in its grandeur.



Daily moderate hikes of 3-6 miles on uneven terrain. One day's hike on a remote rocky route to a stunning view from the Canyon's east rim. Maximum elevation change 1,200'. Build up to more strenuous and challenging hikes by week's end.



Program in association with Northern Arizona University, offering educational Southwestern adventures for over 25 years.



The elevation of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon is 7,000’.
