Seeking a highly creative person with proven design and typography skills for a versatile Graphic Designer
position in a fast-paced international educational travel organization. Elderhostel/Road Scholar sends

Full responsibility for the design, layout and management of catalogs, brochures, advertisements,
and direct mail. Must be quick and efficient while producing quality end product. Maintaining
personal schedules and meeting deadlines is critical in this very busy department.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the design of 2C catalogs, 4C brochures, and direct mail, ensuring that deadlines and design goals are met
- Follow projects through concept, design, production and pre-press
- Participate and collaborate with writers, designers and project managers in concept development and creative strategies
- Collaborate with Fundraising group to design compelling communications materials
- Support the implementation of branding efforts and graphic standards
- Co-mentor and train junior level designers and interns
Required background and competencies:
- BA or BFA degree in graphic design or similarly relevant degree
- 2-4 years of relevant experience; demonstrated experience working from concept to delivery quickly and proactively while taking direction
- Strong foundation in design principles and typography
- Knowledge of marketing standards and trends; experience with older audiences a plus.
- Macintosh software proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat a must
- Understanding of commercial printing process (1C/2C/4C) as well as USPS mail codes and requirements
- Maturity and polished communication skills required; strong team player; energetic collaborator; ability to create and maintain positive working relationships
- Shirtsleeves work style; willingness to acquire new skills and switch gears when necessary
- Meticulous; quality-driven with proofreading and troubleshooting skills
