The 2006 grant recipient was Molly Harrod, a doctoral candidate in her final year at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Ms. Harrod is a graduate student in Wayne State University’s Department of Anthropology.

Ms. Harrod’s doctoral research focuses on the way older adults learn, use and incorporate the Internet into their everyday lives.

Ms. Harrod has indicated that she will use the Exploritas K. Patricia Cross Doctoral Research Grant to complete her dissertation research and to publish her results. She was pleased that the grant will also give her the opportunity to present her dissertation research and results at conferences throughout the United States.
