Workshop Papers from the October, 2004 New England Regional LLI Conference
The conference, organized by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of S. Maine in Portland and the Maine Senior College Network, was a resounding success and the biggest regional conference to date with more than 350 attendees. Perhaps one of the reasons for such a high attendance was the addition of the Senior Scholar program to the conference agenda. Of course the workshops about the nuts and bolts of running an LLI went on as usual, but it was very nice for people to be able to take some mini LLI classes as well. From the time we were greeted by, and photographed with the Maine "Moose" at the front door until the final slide show of conference highlights, the sharing, learning, and fun never stopped. Over the next few months we will be posting papers here from the different workshops, so stay tuned. Kudos to the conference planners and the volunteer workshop leaders from LLIs all over New England, Canada and the eastern U.S. Well done, one and all!
