Taken from the course catalog of the Lifelong Learning Institute, Manassas, Virginia

Speaker forums are held on the second Wednesday of the month at Northern Virginia Community College-Manassas Campus and are open to the public. The event begins with coffee and conversation at 10:00 a.m. followed by the presentation from 10:30 until noon. The “Lunch Bunch” meets after the program at a nearby restaurant for a “Dutch Treat” lunch, more conversation and an opportunity to make new friends. Everyone is welcome to join the “Lunch Bunch.”

  • Making Money by Making Money, with Jay W. Johnson. Mr. Johnson talked about how the U.S. mint works and how the big business that exists in the secondary market of coins thrives.

  • Meet Virginia’s Poet Laureate, Dr. Carolyn Kreiter-Foronda. Dr. Kreiter-Foronda talked about her secrets for tapping into the flow of inspiration.

  • A View from Above: Prince William’s Changing Landscape with Roger W. Snyder. Mr. Snyder presented his aerial views of changes taking place in the western Prince William area in the spring of 2007.
