For an independent lifelong learning institute (LLI), membership in the
Elderhostel Institute Network (EIN) means it is affiliated with North
America’s largest and most respected educational network for older
adults. Other benefits include the following:
• Elderhostel/EIN website - www.elderhostel.org
- A convenient and technologically exciting way to stay connected with
LLIs across the country. Access valuable information including LLI data,
curricula, newsletters and up-to-date news about the movement. Also included
is a full list of EIN-affiliated lifelong learning institutes across North
America.
• EIN Discussion Board - A discussion
group for members or administrators of EIN-affiliated LLIs. The Discussion
Board makes it easy to trade tips, ask questions, make announcements,
conduct information surveys, and bounce ideas off one another.
• E-News Bulletin - Contains links
to EIN and Elderhostel news for any LLI member who asks to subscribe.

• Committee of Network Representatives (CNR)
- They are the voice for Institutes and their members in all EIN
deliberations at the national level, and as such, individual CNR representatives
will be communicating regularly with all Institutes within their regions
regarding concerns, issues, regional conferences and new initiatives.
• Elderhostel Charter Programs Special
educational programs for groups only. Available to all LLIs everywhere
as the perfect compliment to LLI curriculums.
• Complete LLI Start-up Information -
Accessible on the Elderhostel website and easily downloadable. For those
interested in starting a new lifelong learning program.
• Conference Materials - A "How to
Hold a State or Regional LLI Conference" booklet that is accessible on
the Elderhostel website and easily downloadable. Contains useful and detailed
information for conference planning committees.
• Special Educational Initiatives and Benefits
for ILR Members - The national recognition of the Elderhostel name
means LLIs have access to new and exciting educational initiatives that
may not be offered elsewhere.
