HOW WE CAN BEST RESOLVE CONFLICTS AROUND THE WORLD
Can Ancient Wisdom Led to New Approaches?
This was the title of the June Forum at the Lifetime Learning Institute
at Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, Virginia. Dr.
Richard Ruberstein, Professor of Conflict Resolution and Public Affairs
at George Mason University spoke about the most effective ways for
reducing world tensions, and improving prospects for peace. Dr. Ruberstein,
a former Oxford University Rhodes Scholar and author of several books,
explored how the teachings of the ancient prophets can be applied
to modern problem solving. The lessons of these ancient men about
power and social justice are as applicable today as they were centuries
ago. Dr. Rubenstein’s insights into the problems faced today
widened the perspectives and stimulated fresh thinking among the participants.
